THE PARADOX OF FREEDOM

This work explores the philosophical relationship between the individual and identity, examining how freedom itself can lead to anxiety. Drawing from Hegel’s concept of “alienation” and Erich Fromm’s “Escape from Freedom,” the project interprets identity anxiety as three mechanisms of escaping freedom. Through this lens, it concludes that the paradox of freedom is the fundamental cause of identity anxiety.
